Be disciples and make disciples
Welcome to our series on "Be Disciples and Make Disciples"—a call to action for every follower of Christ. This journey is rooted in one of Jesus’ final commands to His disciples in Matthew 28:18-20, where He commissions them to go into all the world, making disciples of all nations. It’s not just a directive to the first followers of Jesus, but a lifelong mission for all believers, then and now.
Throughout this series, we will explore the two essential aspects of this commission: being disciples—living as devoted followers of Jesus, grounded in His teachings, and making disciples—sharing the good news, baptizing, and nurturing new believers in their faith journey. We’ll dive deep into what it means to live out our calling as disciples of Christ in our everyday lives, and how we can actively engage in the mission of spreading the gospel to others.
Being a disciple isn’t just about knowledge; it’s about transformation. It’s about growing closer to Christ, being shaped by His love, and reflecting His character. But it doesn’t stop there. As we grow in our faith, we are entrusted with the responsibility to make disciples—pouring into others, teaching them, and guiding them in their own walk with Jesus.
In the weeks to come, we will unpack what it means to be faithful disciples, what it looks like to disciple others, and how both aspects work together to fulfill the Great Commission. We invite you to open your heart, dive into Scripture, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you as we discover how to live out this incredible mission of discipleship in our lives.
Let’s embark on this journey together—because the call to be and make disciples is a mission that continues through us.
